Sanuki Takamatsu Festival Will Be Held This Summer!
Our festival, built by many predecessors who loved our hometown Takamatsu, is ON for the 57th time this year! Now, as one of the four major festivals in Shikoku and a festival that graces the midsummer nights of Sanuki, today’s Kagawa. The Sanuki Takamatsu Festival is popular among locals and tourists alike. This festival will be held in Chuo Park and Chuo-dori Street as the main venue under the slogan "Monosso Takamatsu." It’s perfect for the Creative City of Takamatsu.
*Monosso means something amazing in the local dialect.
For safety reasons, drones are prohibited from flying around the main venue and viewing areas during the festival. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Using a smart phone while walking is very dangerous. Please help prevent accidents during the festival.

Prevention of Heatstroke
We expect the temperature to be high during the festival, so please take precautions against heatstroke, such as drinking plenty of water and staying cool.

Festival Dates
From Monday (national holiday) , August 12 to Wednesday, August 14, 2024
If inclement weather on August:
12th & 13th, the Chuo Park Program will be partially rescheduled.
13th, the fireworks display will be cancelled.
14th, the dancing on Chuo-dori Street & Chuo Park will be cancelled.

The climax of the three-day festival is the annual group dance:
(1)On Chuo-dori Street, troupes will dance to the theme song. Young and old come together to dance their hearts out.
(2)On the Chuo Park Main Stage, freestyle teams will perform dances full of individuality.

20-minute walk from JR Takamatsu Station, 10-minute walk from Kotoden Kawaramachi Station. Approximately 20 minutes by car from the Takamatsu Chuo IC of the Takamatsu Expressway to the city center.
