Journey to the World of Edward Gorey
Edward Gorey (1925-2000) is a picture book author who has captivated enthusiastic fans worldwide with his enigmatic worldview and elaborate monochrome line drawings. Besides picture books, Gorey also displayed his diverse talents through work such as illustration, stage and costume design, and posters for theater and ballet. This exhibition presents approximately 250 works and documents around themes such as ‘Children,’ ‘Real and Imagined Creatures,’ and ‘Performing Arts.’ Please enjoy this encounter with Gorey's enigmatic works, characterized by a cool, philosophical view of life and death, as if journeying to an old 19th-century mansion on a peninsula on the East Coast of the United States.
