Foreign residents who are planning to live in Japan for more than 90 days are required to register at City Hall. Please apply in person. Bring two portrait photos (4.5cm x 3.5cm) and your passport to the Citizens' Affairs Section. Registration is free.

If there is a change in any of the information on the Alien Registration Card (ie. address, status of residence, etc) then please bring the card to the Citizens' Affairs Section within 14 days of the change and have the changes noted on the card. If you need a document proving your registration and listing the information on the card (a toroku genpyo kisai jiko shomeisho) then go to the Citizens' Affairs Section, a Citizens' Service Center, or your nearest branch office (including Sogawa, Higashi-ueta, and Nishi-ueta community centers, Shionoe, and Kaminishi liason offices) to apply for the document. There is a processing fee of 350 yen per copy.
